This two story addition to an existing ‘mail order’ farmhouse from the early 1900’s facilitated a number of rooms including kitchen, dining, basement and exterior decking, windows and clearstory’s were aligned in concert with a large existing deciduous tree to take advantage of solar gain in the winter and shading in the summer. Simple craftsman solutions and brush applied finishes resolve the space and its furnishings. A step down covered porch lessens the separation from the yard while sculpted grading and rock wall cascade the landscape a pond.
