The 4,000 square foot restaurant at Dunham Place is located adjacent to the Williamsburg Bridge anchorage, and steps away from the East River. The building itself has had many incarnations since it was built over a century ago. At various times, it was home to a carriage manufacturer, a stonemason, and a metal shop. The new design treats the two levels as different environs accommodating an all day crowd in the bright ground floor and special functions, tastings, and presentations in the cellar. The design strives to preserve existing elements in contrast to the new assemblies reinterpreting old materials.
