Bar Tetto is conceived as a rooftop lounge that offers a quieter counterpoint to the energy of the Lower East Side below. Set against panoramic city views, the design uses a warm, material-driven interior to anchor the space within a highly exposed setting. Inspired by mid-century Brazilian modernism, the project emphasizes natural materials and soft geometries.

Custom millwork, a herringbone-patterned ceiling, and hand-patinated brass lighting introduce depth and texture against the building’s glass and concrete envelope. Custom window blinds echo the city skyline, extending the horizon into the interior. Large openings and operable doors extend the room onto adjacent terraces. Seating is soft and varied, supporting a slower, more relaxed mode of use. The result is a space that balances openness with enclosure.
